Best Composts for 2024

Every year Gardening Which produces a number of lists of composts that performed well during their trails, these cover composts for growing seeds, for young plants and for containers.
2024 sees the switch to peat free composts so the lists so don’t expect to see any peat-based composts in the following lists! Those noted (*) can only be bought peat-free at the time of writing and are much dearer than those available at garden centres. As they often say “You pays the money and takes your choice”
