Plant of the month - April

Forget-Me-Not (Myosotis arvensis)
We are never afraid to overlook some of the UK’s more common and less fashionable plants, and the ‘Forget-Me-Not’ falls into that category!
Often found growing in our gardens - seems almost impossible to prevent from re-seeding itself! It prefers well drained spots. Often thought of as annual, it can also behave as a biennial or short-lived perennial! More ‘cultivated’ varieties can now be bought if you so desire.
Best sown in autumn this cheerful, low growing flower is always a welcome sight in spring – so why not learn to enjoy it. One of the simplest spring flower displays I’ve seen was bright red Tulips growing amongst Forget-Me-Nots – stunning!
